A few weeks ago, a cicada landed on my screen of my open window.
This was one of the regular cicadas that come out every year. They’re much more secretive than their 17-year cousins.
Well, most of the time they’re secretive. They don’t seem very secretive when they’re on your screen window, making their extremely loud sound right into your apartment.
It climbed up the screen for a while, but I assume it wanted to be in a tree looking for other cicadas, so eventually it took flight toward the nice big tree right over there–
Oh dear.
This flight did not end how the cicada expected.
The cicada does not seem to be equipped to solve its problems.
(Same, cicada. Same.)
Come on, buddy. I believe in you.
Ten minutes later, I checked again.
The cicada had found its way out. If there’s hope for the cicada, maybe there’s hope for us all?
